Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) in CT

What is PRP?

PRP is natural filler derived from your own blood.  A small volume of blood is drawn and then centrifuged to separate platelets, serum and fibrin, which is then activated, resulting in the natural “filler” that is injected to stimulate hair growth, promote facial rejuvenation, or applied during a micropen collagen rejuvenation session.  Upon administration, platelets release natural tissue regenerating factors, supporting collagen production and dermal matrix reconstruction.

Because this filler is made from the patient’s own blood, there is no risk of rejection, infection, or an allergic reaction.  Improvement in skin tone and texture can also be achieved when injected or applied topically to the skin.

PRP Treatment for Hair Loss

PRP is a proactive therapeutic option for males and females experiencing hair loss. It is performed monthly for three to four months, resulting in natural regrowth of hair through stimulation of collagen and cell production. This unique treatment option is perfect for patient's with mild thinning that want to restore affected areas with fuller, denser hair or for patients with more severe hair loss that do not want to undergo surgical interventions.
